Lecturer position Sigma / Limos
SIGMA Clermont is a public engineering school. With ISIMA and Polytech Clermont, it founded in 2021 the Clermont Auvergne INP institute, a member of the INP group, one of the largest networks of engineering schools in France.
SIGMA Clermont delivers the engineering degree in three specialties: Mechanics, Chemistry and Mechanics and Industrial Engineering by apprenticeship, in partnership with the ITII of Auvergne.
Teaching profile.
The person recruited will be responsible for a course on the basics of machine learning and another on deep learning in the specialized Master's degree Data Sciences for Engineering. He/she will also be involved in deep reinforcement learning, particularly for needs related to robotics. He/she will also be involved in the upstream part of machine learning (probabilities and statistics, optimization). An involvement in one of the courses on uncertainty quantification would also be appreciated.
He/she will give lectures, tutorials and practical work and will also be involved in the supervision of student projects and internships.
Research profile.
Keywords: machine learning for physical systems, uncertainty quantification, meta-modeling and optimization.
Physical systems are modeled on physical knowledge bases that are increasingly complemented by data acquired before and during the life cycle of the system. Machine learning offers a privileged framework for merging this physical and statistical knowledge.
The candidate will have a detailed knowledge of statistical learning and machine learning.
He/she will have the skills to develop new algorithms and implement them on physical systems.
The person recruited will integrate the Laboratory of Computer Science, Modeling and Systems Optimization (LIMOS, UMR CNRS 6158, https://limos.fr) and will carry out his/her research activities within the theme of Metamodeling, Continuous Optimization and Application (MOCA) of the MAAD axis and/or in the theme of Data, Services and Intelligence (DSI) of the SIC axis.
