A rich and stimulating activity

LIMOS actively participates in a variety of events reflecting its commitment to research, teaching and the dissemination of knowledge. Here is a list of the types of events in which it is involved:

  • Conferences and Workshops: Organization and hosting of scientific conferences, such as STACS 2024 (Symposium on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science) held at LIMOS from March 12 to 14, 2024. 

  • Seminars and keynotesThe laboratory regularly organizes keynotes and seminars, providing a platform for experts from various fields to share their research and discoveries.

  • Thesis defenses: Organization of thesis defenses for doctoral students, contributing to the advancement of research and the training of new researchers. 

  • Interdisciplinary projects: Participation in programs such as HACCEScol, focusing on access to education for people with disabilities, in collaboration with other laboratories and institutions. 

  • Open daysParticipation in ISIMA's open days, enabling potential students to discover the programs and research opportunities.

  • Hackathons and competitions: Participation in hackathons, such as the VEGEPOLYS VALLEY Hackathon, where ISIMA students were winners, demonstrating the practical application of acquired skills. 

  • Social events: Participation in partner school events, fostering cohesion between students, researchers and teachers. 

  • Integration days: We organize integration days for new students and researchers, facilitating their adaptation and immersion in the academic community. 

  • Thematic workshops: Organization of workshops, such as the AGC Workshop in St Jacques d'Ambur, to explore specific topics in small groups. 

 

Living in Clermont-Ferrand or Saint Etienne

LIMOS has two research campuses, in Clermont-Ferrand and Saint-Étienne. These sites enable laboratory teams to collaborate on a wide range of projects in computer science, systems modeling and optimization, while benefiting from synergies with local academic and industrial institutions.

 Some of our colleagues, for pedagogical reasons, also work in Vichy, Gardanne, Montluçon, ...
This location facilitates the extension of research and the integration of knowledge in diversified fields of application.

Looking for a new opportunity in a laboratory of excellence? LIMOS regularly publishes job offers, including positions for professors, engineers and PhD students.

Recruitment is mainly through national competitive examinations run by our partner universities, notably the Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA). The lecturers recruited share their time between research at LIMOS and teaching, notably at the Institut Supérieur d'Informatique, de Modélisation et de leurs Applications (ISIMA), a major component of the UCA.
